Cory Chalmers is the Founder and CEO of Steri-Clean, Inc., a national extreme cleaning company he founded in 1995. With more than 30 years of experience in the biohazard, hoarding, crime scene, and extreme cleaning industries, Cory has helped build Steri-Clean into a nationally recognized brand focused on restoring homes, businesses, and lives during some of the most difficult situations people can face.

Cory is also widely recognized for his longtime role as a featured expert and host on A&E’s Emmy-nominated television series Hoarders. Over the course of 16 seasons and more than 80 episodes, he has worked directly with individuals and families affected by severe hoarding conditions, bringing a combination of compassion, practical experience, leadership, and problem-solving to some of the most challenging cases featured on the show.

Before dedicating himself full-time to Steri-Clean, Cory spent 21 years in emergency services as an EMT, paramedic, firefighter, and Fire Captain. That experience helped shape his approach to leadership, crisis management, safety, and helping people during difficult and often traumatic circumstances. He currently continues his commitment to public service as a Fire Commissioner in Blaine County, Idaho.

As an entrepreneur and franchisor, Cory is passionate about building strong businesses, developing leaders, and continually improving the Steri-Clean franchise system. He believes that growth starts at the top and remains committed to ongoing education, coaching, innovation, and personal development—not only for Steri-Clean franchise owners and employees, but for himself as a leader.

Under Cory’s leadership, Steri-Clean has continued to expand its services and capabilities while maintaining the compassionate approach the company was founded on. From biohazard and crime scene cleanup to hoarding, drug contamination, infectious disease, odor remediation, and other extreme cleaning situations, the company’s mission remains the same: helping people recover from situations they never expected to face.
